About ASOI
ASOI is an institution where students from all over the world who convened at UCI to explore and pursue the path to the best version of themselves. Here, the ultimate goal to study psychology along with other appropriate strategies is to "know thyself", empowering each of its members to become "everyday-scientists" who implement science into their daily experiments so they get to know their nature and potentials a little bit better each day.

Our Mission
The theme of ASOI @2019Fall is “Willpower Instinct” with its core material derived from the book “the willpower instinct” by Dr.Kelly McGonial, a professor at Stanford University. The content from this book will be designed into a ten-week course, studied and presented by the core-members, which not only educates the mechanisms and nature of Willpower but also help the team members to incorporate the strategies into their daily lives and thus benefit from it for the rest of their lives. (How to best design this book into a course will be constantly modified through the feedback from the audience.
In 2019F, The club will work as a team to construct the teaching materials and design an entertaining and interactive teaching style that get the most out of this course.)

Our Vision
Ab-sA will be an organization where each individual will find a path to become the “best” version of themselves.
In Ab-sA, the ultimate purpose to study psychology along with appropriate strategies is to “know thyself”. This club is in aim to train everyone into every-day scientists who implement science into their daily experiments about themselves and get to know their nature and potentials a little better each day.
Although start with theme “Willpower Instinct”, our journey would never just stop here. Being capable to decide what to do even in the face of the ultimate temptation is only a beginning. More themes will be available as more members are trained into lecturers along with an academic peer-review society which not only fact-checks the materials, keeps up-to-date with the results of new researches, but also conducts researches ourselves in aim to create our own courses, and maybe publish books.
